In recent years, the “And Carry On” meme has become one of the most popular and recognizable memes on the internet. From social media platforms to online forums, this meme has been shared, parodied, and remixed countless times. But where did it come from? How did it become so popular? And what does it say about internet culture as a whole?

The Origins of the “And Carry On” Meme

The “And Carry On” meme is based on a famous British propaganda poster from World War II. The poster featured the slogan “Keep Calm and Carry On” in bold white letters on a red background. The poster was originally intended to be used in the event of a German invasion of Britain, but it was never actually distributed. Instead, it was kept in storage until it was rediscovered in 2000 and became a cultural phenomenon.

Since then, the “Keep Calm and Carry On” slogan has been parodied and remixed countless times. One of the most popular variations is “Keep Calm and Carry On” with a humorous or ironic twist. For example, “Keep Calm and Eat Bacon” or “Keep Calm and Drink Wine.”

The Rise of the “And Carry On” Meme

The “And Carry On” meme really took off in the early 2010s. It started as a simple image macro – a picture with text overlaid on top – and quickly spread across the internet. Soon, people were creating their own “And Carry On” memes with different slogans and images.

Part of the appeal of the “And Carry On” meme is its simplicity. The original poster is clean and minimalist, with just a few words of text and a bold color scheme. This makes it easy to remix and customize for different contexts and audiences.

The Impact of the “And Carry On” Meme on Internet Culture

The “And Carry On” meme has had a significant impact on internet culture. It has become a shorthand for a certain type of attitude – one that emphasizes resilience, humor, and a refusal to take things too seriously. This attitude is particularly prevalent in online communities like Reddit, 4chan, and Tumblr, where users often use humor and irony as a defense mechanism against the chaos and negativity of the internet.

Some critics argue that the “And Carry On” meme represents a kind of complacency or apathy. They argue that by telling people to “keep calm and carry on,” the meme encourages people to accept the status quo and not to question authority or challenge the system.

Over the years, the concept of everyday carry (EDC) has grown in popularity. It refers to the items that people carry with them on a daily basis for convenience, safety, or emergency situations. The EDC trend has spawned a plethora of online communities, social media pages, and memes that showcase the quirks and idiosyncrasies of carrying around everyday items. In this article, we will explore some of the most popular everyday carry memes in 2023.

What are Everyday Carry Memes?

Everyday carry memes are humorous images, videos, or captions that poke fun at the EDC trend. They often exaggerate the types of items people carry or make fun of the obsessive nature of the EDC culture. Some memes also offer practical advice on what to carry and what not to carry in certain situations.

One of the most popular everyday carry memes is the “pocket dump” meme, which features a photo or video of someone emptying their pockets to show off their EDC items. These photos often include everyday items like keys, wallets, and phones, but can also feature more unusual items like flashlights, knives, and multi-tools.

The Rise of Everyday Carry Culture

The EDC trend has grown in popularity over the years, thanks in part to social media and online communities. People are now more aware of the importance of being prepared for emergency situations, and carrying everyday items has become a way of life for many. As a result, the EDC culture has become more mainstream, and everyday carry memes have become a way for people to poke fun at themselves and others.

But not everyone is a fan of the EDC trend. Some critics argue that it promotes paranoia and fear, and that carrying around weapons or other items can be dangerous. Others argue that it’s simply a way for people to show off and feel superior to others.

The Best Everyday Carry Memes

So, what are some of the best everyday carry memes in 2023? Let’s take a look at a few:

“When you’re EDC is on point”

This meme features an image of a person with a backpack full of everyday items, including a first aid kit, flashlight, multi-tool, and more. The caption reads, “When you’re EDC is on point and you feel like you can conquer the world.”

Response from John, an EDC enthusiast: “This is so true! When you have all your essential items with you, you feel invincible.”

“The minimalist EDC”

This meme features a photo of a person with only a few items in their pocket, including a phone, wallet, and keys. The caption reads, “My EDC is so minimalist, I only carry the essentials.”

Whether you’re a die-hard EDC enthusiast or a skeptic, there’s no denying that these memes are a great way to poke fun at ourselves and the items we carry.
