The Queen of England
As always, the British monarchy provided plenty of fodder for internet memes. Whether it was Queen Elizabeth’s stoic expression or Prince Harry’s latest scandal, there was no shortage of material. One popular meme featured a photo of the Queen looking unimpressed, with the caption “When you realize it’s Monday tomorrow.” Another showed a picture of Prince William and Prince Harry with the caption “When you and your brother both know your mom likes you better.”
But perhaps the most popular Queen Elizabeth meme of 2022 was the one that showed her wearing a neon green suit and sunglasses, with the caption “When you’re 95 and still cooler than everyone else.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race
RuPaul’s Drag Race has been a cultural phenomenon for years, and 2022 was no exception. The show provided plenty of meme-worthy moments, from the contestants’ over-the-top outfits to RuPaul’s iconic catchphrases. One popular meme featured a picture of RuPaul saying “Don’t f*** it up,” with the caption “When you’re about to make a big decision and need a little encouragement.”
Another popular meme featured a photo of a contestant with the caption “When you thought you had your life together but then you remember you’re a hot mess in a wig.”
General Queenship
Of course, not all queen memes were about specific queens. Some were just about the general concept of queenship, whether it was a queen bee, a drag queen, or just a person who exudes confidence and power. One popular meme featured a picture of Beyonce with the caption “When you’re the queen and you know it.”
Another popular meme showed a picture of a cat wearing a crown, with the caption “When you’re the queen of the house and everyone knows it.”
