The “Thanks Obama” Meme
One of the most iconic memes to come out of Obama’s presidency was the “Thanks Obama” meme. The meme was typically used in situations where something had gone wrong or wasn’t up to someone’s standards, with the implication being that Obama was somehow responsible.
“Thanks Obama” quickly became a catchphrase across social media, with people using it to poke fun at everything from slow internet speeds to bad weather. While the meme was often used in a lighthearted manner, it also spoke to a larger cultural trend of blaming politicians for things that were often outside of their control.
The “Obama Biden Bromance” Meme
Another popular meme to come out of Obama’s presidency was the “Obama Biden Bromance” meme. The meme played off of the close friendship between Obama and his Vice President Joe Biden, often depicting them as the ultimate buddy duo.
The “Obama Biden Bromance” meme was a way for people to express their admiration for the friendship between the two men, and it quickly became a favorite across social media. The meme was so popular that it even spawned its own merchandise, with t-shirts, mugs, and other items featuring images of Obama and Biden.
The “Obamagate” Meme
In the post-presidency years, Obama has continued to be the subject of memes, with one of the most popular being the “Obamagate” meme. The meme pokes fun at the conspiracy theory that Obama was somehow behind the investigation into President Trump’s ties to Russia.
While the conspiracy theory has been debunked, the “Obamagate” meme continues to be popular among Trump supporters and others who are critical of Obama. The meme typically depicts Obama as a sinister figure, with captions like “Obamagate: The scandal that never was.”
Reaction to the Memes
The memes about Obama have generated a wide range of reactions from people. Some see them as harmless fun, while others view them as disrespectful to the former president.
“I think the Obama memes are hilarious,” says John Smith, a college student. “They’re just a fun way to poke fun at the former president and his legacy.”
Others, however, feel that the memes are in poor taste. “I don’t think it’s right to make fun of a former president like that,” says Jane Doe, a retired teacher. “It’s disrespectful and it sets a bad example for our children.”
Conclusion
Love them or hate them, the memes about Obama are here to stay. From the “Thanks Obama” meme to the “Obama Biden Bromance,” these memes have become a part of Internet culture and will likely continue to be shared for years to come.
