The Birth of NBA Fortnite Memes
The phenomenon started back in 2020, when the NBA season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With no live games to watch, players turned to other forms of entertainment, including video games. And one game in particular captured the attention of many NBA players: Fortnite.
Soon, players were streaming themselves playing the game on platforms like Twitch, and fans loved it. But it wasn’t just the gameplay that was entertaining – it was the banter and trash talk between players that really caught people’s attention. And thus, a new era of NBA memes was born.
The Best NBA Fortnite Memes
There have been countless NBA Fortnite memes over the past few years, but here are a few of our favorites:
“LeBron Has Left the Game”
This meme plays off the classic “player has left the game” message that pops up when someone quits a game of Fortnite. In this case, the meme shows LeBron James leaving the court mid-game, with the message “LeBron has left the game” superimposed over the image. It’s a hilarious nod to LeBron’s dominance on the court, and his love of Fortnite.
“KD Has Been Eliminated”
This meme takes a similar approach, but with Kevin Durant as the subject. The image shows KD getting eliminated in Fortnite, with the message “KD has been eliminated” overlaid on top. Again, it’s a nod to KD’s status as one of the best players in the league, and his love of gaming.
“Steph Curry Has Entered the Game”
This meme plays off the classic “player has entered the game” message that appears when someone joins a game of Fortnite. In this case, the meme shows Steph Curry stepping onto the court, with the message “Steph Curry has entered the game” superimposed over the image. It’s a hilarious nod to Steph’s skill on the court, and his love of gaming.
The Response to NBA Fortnite Memes
NBA Fortnite memes have been a hit with fans and players alike. Fans love the humor and creativity of the memes, while players enjoy the camaraderie and inside jokes that come with being part of the meme culture.
Many players have even embraced the memes themselves, sharing them on social media and even creating their own. For example, LeBron James frequently posts Fortnite-related content on his Instagram account, including memes and gameplay highlights.
“I love seeing all the memes and jokes that fans come up with,” says James. “It’s a fun way to connect with fans and show off our personalities outside of basketball.”
Other players echo James’s sentiments, saying that the memes have helped them bond with their teammates and fans in a new way.
“I never thought I’d be a part of something like this, but it’s been a blast,” says Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. “The memes are hilarious, and it’s been a great way to connect with fans and my fellow players.”
Conclusion
NBA Fortnite memes are a testament to the power of the internet and the creativity of fans. They’re a fun, lighthearted way to connect players and fans across different worlds, and we can’t wait to see what other hilarious memes come out of this unlikely crossover.
