In the world of online humor, memes have become a dominant form of expression. These humorous images, videos, and texts are often used to comment on current events, cultural phenomena, and societal norms. In Peru, one recent trend in meme culture has been the use of “memes para los cagones de Alianza,” or memes for the cowards of Alianza Lima, a popular soccer team in the country.

What are “memes para los cagones de Alianza”?
The phrase “los cagones” roughly translates to “the cowards” or “the scared ones.” In the context of Alianza Lima, it refers to fans who are perceived as not being supportive enough of the team. The team has a passionate fan base, and fans who are seen as not being dedicated enough are often criticized by others.
“Memes para los cagones de Alianza” are memes that poke fun at these fans. They often feature images of people or animals hiding, running away, or otherwise being cowardly. The memes also often include humorous captions that make fun of these fans in a lighthearted way.
How did the trend start?
It’s unclear exactly how the trend started, but it seems to have gained popularity on social media in 2021 and 2022. As with many memes, it likely started with a few people creating and sharing similar images, and then grew as more people joined in.
Some fans speculate that the trend may have started as a way to motivate fans to be more vocal and supportive of the team. By making fun of fans who are seen as not being dedicated enough, the memes may have helped to create a sense of camaraderie among fans who are passionate about the team.
What do fans think about the memes?
Opinions are mixed among fans of Alianza Lima. Some fans find the memes to be funny and enjoy sharing them with others. Others, however, feel that the memes are mean-spirited and contribute to a toxic fan culture.
“I think the memes are funny, but they can also be hurtful,” says Juan, a fan of the team. “Some people take them too seriously and use them to bully others. That’s not what being a fan is about.”
Others, however, see the humor in the memes and appreciate the lighthearted way they poke fun at fans who are not as dedicated as they are.
“I don’t take the memes too seriously,” says Maria, another fan. “They’re just a way to have fun and joke around with other fans. We all love the team, but we don’t have to be so serious all the time.”
How have the memes evolved?
Like most memes, “memes para los cagones de Alianza” have evolved over time. As more people have created and shared them, the memes have become more elaborate and complex.
Some of the most popular memes now feature images of famous cowards from history or pop culture, such as the Cowardly Lion from “The Wizard of Oz” or King Louis XVI of France. Others feature images of Alianza Lima players or coaches, with humorous captions that make fun of their performance on the field.
What can we learn from this trend?
The trend of “memes para los cagones de Alianza” is just one example of how humor can be used to bring people together and create a sense of community. By poking fun at fans who are not as dedicated as others, these memes have helped to create a sense of camaraderie among those who are passionate about the team.
However, it’s important to remember that humor can also be hurtful, and that we should always be mindful of the impact our words and actions have on others. While the “memes para los cagones de Alianza” may be funny to some, they can also be hurtful to others.
What’s next for “memes para los cagones de Alianza”?
It’s hard to say what the future holds for this trend. As with most memes, it will likely continue to evolve and change over time. Some fans may continue to create and share these memes, while others may move on to something else.
One thing is certain, however: humor will continue to be an important part of fan culture in Peru and around the world. Whether it’s through “memes para los cagones de Alianza” or other forms of online humor, fans will always find ways to express their passion and support for their favorite teams.
