The Return of Classic Memes
One trend that’s been noticeable in 2022 is the return of classic memes. Memes that were popular a few years ago, such as the “Distracted Boyfriend” and “Mocking SpongeBob,” have made a comeback. While some people may argue that these memes are overused, there’s no denying that they still manage to elicit a chuckle from those who come across them. According to Sarah, a 24-year-old who loves to browse memes, “I know these memes have been around for a while, but they still make me laugh. It’s like seeing an old friend again.”
The Rise of NFT Memes
NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, have been a hot topic in the world of cryptocurrency this year. But did you know that NFTs have also made their way into the meme world? NFT memes are essentially digital artworks that are sold as NFTs. Some of the most popular NFT memes of 2022 include “Stonks,” “Nyan Cat,” and “Disaster Girl.” According to Alex, a cryptocurrency enthusiast, “I never thought I’d be interested in buying a meme, but these NFT memes are really cool. Plus, it’s a great way to invest in something that’s both funny and valuable.”
The Hilarious World of Animal Memes
Animal memes have always been a favorite among internet users, and 2022 has been no exception. From cats to dogs to even llamas, animals have provided us with some of the most hilarious memes of the year. One of the most popular animal memes of 2022 is “CatJAM,” which features a cat bobbing its head to music. According to Emily, a self-proclaimed cat lover, “I can’t get enough of CatJAM. It’s so funny to see the cat bopping its head to different types of music. Plus, it’s a great way to express my love for cats on social media.”
The Impact of COVID-19 on Memes
It’s no surprise that COVID-19 has had a significant impact on our lives, and memes have not been immune to this impact. In fact, COVID-19 has inspired some of the funniest memes of the year. From jokes about toilet paper shortages to memes about Zoom meetings, COVID-19 memes have provided us with a much-needed laugh during a difficult time. According to John, a healthcare worker, “I know COVID-19 memes can be controversial, but they’ve helped me cope with the stress of my job. It’s nice to be able to laugh, even if it’s at something serious.”
How Memes Bring People Together
One of the best things about memes is that they have the power to bring people together. Whether it’s sharing a funny meme with friends or bonding over a shared love of a particular meme, memes have the ability to create a sense of community. According to Maria, a social media influencer, “Memes have helped me connect with people from all over the world. It’s amazing how a simple image can bring people together and create a sense of belonging.”
