Why Homecoming Memes Are a Thing
Homecoming is a big deal for high school students. It’s a chance to dress up, dance, and have fun with friends. But it’s also a time when students can feel a lot of pressure to fit in and do things a certain way. Memes are a way for students to poke fun at these expectations and create a sense of community around the event.
According to Sarah, a high school senior who’s been making homecoming memes for the past three years, “It’s a way for us to laugh at ourselves and not take everything so seriously. We know that homecoming is just one night, but the memes make it feel like a bigger part of our high school experience.”
