The Origins of Browns Memes
The Browns’ memes started to gain momentum around the time the team drafted quarterback Baker Mayfield in 2018. Mayfield was a polarizing figure in the draft, and many fans were divided on whether he was the right choice for the Browns. However, Mayfield quickly won over the hearts of Browns fans with his confident swagger and impressive play on the field. As Mayfield’s popularity grew, so did the number of memes about him and the Browns. Fans started to create memes that poked fun at the team’s past failures, as well as memes that celebrated the team’s newfound success. Some of the most popular Browns memes feature Mayfield, but there are also memes about other players and coaches, as well as the team’s fans.
The Most Popular Browns Memes
There are countless Browns memes out there, but some have become more popular than others. Here are a few of the most popular Browns memes:
Dawg Pound
The Dawg Pound is the name given to the section of Cleveland Browns Stadium where the team’s most passionate fans sit. The Dawg Pound is known for its rowdy atmosphere and its tendency to bark like dogs during games. The Dawg Pound meme is a play on this tradition, with fans creating memes that feature dogs wearing Browns gear and barking at opponents.
Baker Mayfield
As mentioned earlier, Baker Mayfield is the subject of many Browns memes. Some of the most popular Mayfield memes include ones that feature him dancing, celebrating touchdowns, and giving interviews. Mayfield’s facial expressions are also a popular subject for memes, with fans using them to create funny captions or to show Mayfield reacting to different situations.
Fire Freddie Kitchens
Freddie Kitchens was the Browns’ head coach from 2019-2020, but he was fired after a disappointing season. During Kitchens’ tenure, many fans called for his firing, and this sentiment was reflected in the memes. The “Fire Freddie Kitchens” meme features a picture of Kitchens with flames in the background, and it is often used to express frustration with the team’s coaching decisions.
