These memes can take many forms, from simple image macros to elaborate Photoshop jobs that mock the genre’s often-over-the-top aesthetic.
One of the most popular types of black metal memes on Reddit are those that riff on the genre’s often-impenetrable lyrics. Another popular type of black metal meme on Reddit are those that poke fun at the genre’s often-over-the-top aesthetic. These memes might feature images of black metal musicians in their full stage regalia, complete with spiked gauntlets and corpse paint, superimposed onto mundane settings like a grocery store or a subway car.
