The Rise of High Memes
With the legalization of cannabis in many states and countries, the culture around it has become more mainstream. High memes are a reflection of this shift, as more people feel comfortable openly discussing and sharing their experiences with cannabis. These memes are often created by and for cannabis enthusiasts, who use humor to connect with one another and celebrate their shared passion.
The Most Popular High Memes of 2022
One of the most popular high memes of 2022 was “Can’t Wait to Get High,” which featured a cartoon character eagerly anticipating their next smoke session. Another popular meme was “When You’re So High,” which typically showed a confused or disoriented character in a humorous situation. “420 Blaze It” memes also continued to be popular, referencing the unofficial cannabis holiday on April 20th.
Responses from the Cannabis Community
Many cannabis enthusiasts celebrated the rise of high memes, viewing them as a way to break down stigmas and connect with others who share their love of cannabis. However, some critics argued that these memes reinforce negative stereotypes and trivialize the potential risks associated with cannabis use. Others pointed out that some high memes can be exclusionary to those who are unable or choose not to consume cannabis.
How High Memes Reflect Changing Attitudes
Regardless of whether you love or loathe high memes, they are a reflection of changing attitudes towards cannabis. As more people around the world become accepting of cannabis use, we can expect to see more memes and other forms of media that celebrate and normalize it. High memes may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they are a sign of the times and a reminder that the culture around cannabis is constantly evolving.
