Overwatch, the popular team-based first-person shooter game, has been out for several years now, but its competitive scene is still going strong. With each competitive season comes a new set of memes and jokes that the community shares and laughs about. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the funniest Overwatch competitive memes that have emerged in recent years.

The Importance of Memes in the Overwatch Community

Memes have become a cornerstone of the Overwatch community. They provide a way for players to connect with each other and share their love for the game in a humorous way. Memes can also be a way for players to express their frustrations or disappointments with the game’s mechanics or the competitive scene.

“Overwatch memes are a great way to bond with other players,” says Sarah, a competitive Overwatch player. “I love browsing through Reddit or Twitter and seeing what new memes people have come up with. It’s a fun way to take a break from the serious side of the game.”

The Funniest Overwatch Competitive Memes

1. The “I Need Healing” Meme

One of the most well-known Overwatch memes is the “I need healing” meme. This meme is based on the game’s support heroes, who are responsible for keeping their teammates alive. Players often spam the “I need healing” voice line when they’re low on health, which can be frustrating for support players.

“As a support player, the ‘I need healing’ meme can be both funny and annoying,” says Alex, an Overwatch player. “But I think it’s a great way for players to express their frustration with how their team is playing.”

2. The “RIP Mercy” Meme

Another popular Overwatch meme is the “RIP Mercy” meme. This meme is based on the game’s support hero Mercy, who has undergone several changes throughout the game’s lifespan. Players often joke about how each new patch “kills” Mercy in some way.

“The ‘RIP Mercy’ meme is funny because it’s so true,” says Tony, an Overwatch player. “Mercy has gone through so many changes, and each time it feels like she’s getting weaker and weaker.”

3. The “I Play Support Because No One Else Will” Meme

Many Overwatch players have experienced the frustration of having to play support because no one else on their team will. This has led to the creation of the “I play support because no one else will” meme, which pokes fun at the idea that playing support is a thankless job.

“I’ve definitely been in situations where I’ve had to play support even though I wanted to play DPS,” says Emily, an Overwatch player. “But the ‘I play support because no one else will’ meme makes me feel better about it. At least I know I’m not alone.”

Conclusion

Overwatch competitive memes have become a staple of the game’s community. They provide a way for players to connect with each other and express their frustrations and joys in a humorous way. Whether it’s the “I need healing” meme or the “RIP Mercy” meme, these jokes will continue to bring laughter to the Overwatch community for years to come.
