It’s been almost a decade since the first screaming goat meme was born, but it’s still going strong in 2023 – especially with the recent resurgence of interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And now, a new variant of the meme has emerged: Screaming Goat Meme Thor.

What is Screaming Goat Meme Thor?

For those who aren’t familiar with the screaming goat meme, it’s a viral sensation that involves superimposing the sound of a goat’s bleat onto various videos. The result is often hilarious and unexpected, and has been applied to everything from pop songs to movie scenes.

Screaming Goat Meme Thor takes this one step further by applying the goat sound to scenes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that feature Thor, the god of thunder. Specifically, it’s been used on moments where Thor is yelling or roaring, making the goat bleat sound like it’s coming from his mouth.

How Did Screaming Goat Meme Thor Start?

The origins of Screaming Goat Meme Thor are a bit murky, but it seems to have started with a fan-made video that combined the goat sound with a scene from Thor: Ragnarok. The video quickly went viral, with many people finding it hilarious and sharing it on social media.

From there, the meme took on a life of its own. Fans began creating their own versions of the meme, applying the goat sound to different Thor scenes and sharing them online. Some of the most popular ones include a scene from Avengers: Infinity War where Thor yells “Bring me Thanos!”, and a scene from Thor: Ragnarok where he screams “I’m not a queen or a monster, I’m the goddess of death!”

Why is Screaming Goat Meme Thor So Popular?

Part of the reason for the popularity of Screaming Goat Meme Thor is simply that it’s funny. There’s something inherently absurd about a majestic godlike figure like Thor making goat noises, and the contrast between his imposing physical presence and the silly sound makes for a great comedic effect.

But there’s also a sense of nostalgia and affection for the Marvel Cinematic Universe that’s driving the popularity of the meme. With the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, the original arc of the MCU came to a close, leaving many fans feeling a sense of loss and longing for more content. Screaming Goat Meme Thor is a way for fans to keep the spirit of the MCU alive, even as they wait for new movies and TV shows to come out.

“As a longtime fan of the MCU, I think this meme is a great way to keep the characters and stories alive in between movies. Plus, it’s just plain funny.” – @marvelmaven

Since its inception in 2017, the Thor meme has been a favorite among social media users, particularly on Twitter and Instagram. The meme features a still image of Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) from Thor: Ragnarok, looking pensive and serious, with the caption “Is it though?”

The Thor meme has been used in various ways, from questioning the validity of a statement to poking fun at someone’s intelligence. But is it really that funny? Let’s dive in and find out.

The Origins of the Thor Meme

The Thor meme first gained popularity in 2017, shortly after the release of Thor: Ragnarok. The image used in the meme is from a scene in the movie where Thor is having a conversation with Valkyrie (played by Tessa Thompson) about their plan to take down Hela (played by Cate Blanchett).

The line that follows the “Is it though?” caption is actually spoken by Valkyrie, who says “You’re just using humor to deflect the fact that deep down you’re a terrified boy who’s too afraid to face his daddy issues.” The meme, however, takes the image out of context and turns it into a humorous response to various statements.

The Appeal of the Thor Meme

So, why has the Thor meme become so popular? For one, it’s a versatile meme that can be used in a variety of situations. The image of Thor looking pensive and serious provides a great contrast to the often-silly captions that accompany it.

Additionally, the meme plays off of the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its characters. Fans of the movies can appreciate the humor in seeing their favorite characters used in unexpected ways.

Responses to the Thor Meme

While the Thor meme has its fair share of fans, not everyone finds it funny. Some argue that the meme has been overused and has lost its original appeal. Others take issue with the fact that the meme takes a serious moment from the movie out of context and turns it into a joke.

One Twitter user wrote, “I used to love the Thor meme, but now it’s just played out. Can we please move on to something else?”

Another user commented, “I don’t think it’s funny to take a serious moment from a movie and turn it into a joke. It’s disrespectful to the filmmakers and the actors.”

The Future of the Thor Meme

So, what does the future hold for the Thor meme? Only time will tell. It’s possible that the meme will continue to be popular for years to come, or it could fade away into obscurity.

One thing is for sure, however: memes come and go, and what’s popular today may not be popular tomorrow. As with any internet trend, it’s important to enjoy it while it lasts and not take it too seriously.

Final Thoughts

In the end, whether or not the Thor meme is funny is a matter of personal opinion. Some people love it, while others find it tired and overused. Regardless of which camp you fall into, it’s hard to deny the impact that the meme has had on internet culture.

As with any meme, it’s important to use it responsibly and not to offend anyone. And if you’re tired of the Thor meme, don’t worry – there’s sure to be a new meme just around the corner.

It’s hard to believe that just a few years ago, the internet was ablaze with memes featuring a certain foul-mouthed, overweight cartoon character. Yes, we’re talking about the one and only Cartman from South Park, and his infamous catchphrase “Respect my authoritah!”

For those who may not be familiar, the “Cartman meme authoritah” trend started in the early 2000s when South Park first aired an episode in which Cartman becomes a hall monitor and abuses his power to the extreme. The phrase “Respect my authoritah!” became an instant classic, and soon, images and videos featuring the character began to circulate online.

The Height of the Craze

By 2023, the “Cartman meme authoritah” trend had reached its peak. Memes featuring the character were everywhere, from social media to online forums to text messages between friends. People loved the irreverent humor and the sheer absurdity of the whole thing.

One of the most popular iterations of the meme was a video clip in which Cartman declares “I am the law!” before breaking into a dance. This clip was shared so widely that it became a cultural touchstone, with people using it to express everything from frustration with their boss to excitement about their weekend plans.

Another popular version of the meme featured a photoshopped image of Cartman dressed as a police officer, with the words “Respect my authoritah” emblazoned across the top. This image was so iconic that it even made its way onto t-shirts and other merchandise.

The Backlash

As with any pop culture phenomenon, there was bound to be a backlash against the “Cartman meme authoritah” trend. Some people felt that the humor was too crude and offensive, while others simply grew tired of seeing the same image or video clip over and over again.

One of the most high-profile critics of the trend was comedian and actor Patton Oswalt, who tweeted in 2021: “I miss when memes were just cats with funny captions. This whole ‘Cartman meme authoritah’ thing is getting old.” While Oswalt’s comments were met with some backlash of their own, they also sparked a larger conversation about the role of memes in modern culture.

The Legacy

So what happened to the “Cartman meme authoritah” trend? Like most internet memes, it eventually faded away, replaced by newer, fresher jokes and images. But while the trend may no longer be at the forefront of pop culture, its impact can still be felt.

The show has always been known for its willingness to tackle controversial subjects and push the envelope, and the “Cartman meme authoritah” trend was a perfect example of that irreverence in action.

Additionally, the trend helped to popularize the use of memes as a form of social commentary and humor.
