It’s been almost a decade since the Arey Bhai Bhai meme took the internet by storm. For those who don’t know, the meme features a still from a Bollywood movie with the phrase “Arey Bhai Bhai” written on it. The phrase roughly translates to “Oh brother, brother” and is often used to express confusion or frustration.

The meme became popular in 2013 and quickly spread across social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. It was shared by people all over the world and became a staple of internet culture.

The Origins of the Arey Bhai Bhai Meme

The still from the Bollywood movie comes from a scene in the 2002 film “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.” The movie features Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Akshay Kumar and is a romantic comedy. In the scene, Salman Khan’s character is trying to teach Akshay Kumar’s character how to dance. When Akshay messes up the steps, Salman says “Arey Bhai Bhai” in frustration.

It wasn’t until a few years after the movie’s release that the still became a meme. The first known use of the Arey Bhai Bhai meme was on a Facebook page called “Bollywood Memes.”

The Popularity of the Arey Bhai Bhai Meme

As with most memes, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly why the Arey Bhai Bhai meme became so popular. It could be because of the relatability of the phrase – everyone has experienced confusion or frustration at some point in their lives. It could also be because the still from the movie is so iconic and easily recognizable.

Whatever the reason, the meme quickly became a favorite of internet users everywhere. People used it to express their feelings about everything from work to politics to pop culture.

The Decline of the Arey Bhai Bhai Meme

As with all memes, the Arey Bhai Bhai meme eventually fell out of favor. It’s hard to say exactly when it happened, but by the mid-2010s, the meme had lost its popularity.

However, that doesn’t mean that people have forgotten about it entirely. There are still plenty of fans of the meme who use it to this day. In fact, a quick search on social media platforms will reveal that the Arey Bhai Bhai meme is still alive and well.
