In the world of internet memes, there are few things more universally loved than a good dog meme. But in 2021, a new breed of meme took over social media, and it’s been causing quite a stir ever since: Perro Meme Ansiedad.

For those who are unfamiliar, Perro Meme Ansiedad is a Spanish phrase that translates to “anxiety dog meme.” The meme features a photo of a small, scruffy dog with wide, frightened eyes and text that usually reads something like “Me when I realize it’s Monday tomorrow” or “Me trying to make it through the work week.”

The dog in the meme is a Chihuahua named Pancho, who lives in Mexico with his owner, Marianna. According to Marianna, the photo that inspired the meme was taken when Pancho was feeling nervous during a thunderstorm.

The meme first started to gain traction on Twitter in early 2021, and it quickly spread to other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. By the end of the year, Perro Meme Ansiedad had become a viral sensation, with countless variations and spin-offs popping up every day.
