Alternative facts, a term coined by Kellyanne Conway in 2017, have become a common occurrence in today’s society. Misinformation spreads like wildfire on social media platforms, and it’s hard to keep up with what’s true and what’s not. However, people have found a hilarious way to deal with the absurdity of alternative facts through funny memes.

What are Alternative Facts?

Alternative facts are false statements presented as true by politicians, media outlets, and individuals to mislead people. These statements are not supported by any evidence or facts and are often used to push a political agenda or narrative.

Alternative facts have become a significant problem in today’s society, where misinformation spreads like wildfire on social media. It’s important to fact-check information before sharing it to prevent the spread of false information.

Funny Alternative Facts Memes

Despite the seriousness of the issue, people have found a way to make light of alternative facts through funny memes. These memes use humor to point out the absurdity of the statements and the people who make them.

One popular meme features a picture of a cat with the caption, “I’m not fat, I’m just big-boned alternative fact.” This meme pokes fun at the ridiculousness of alternative facts by applying it to something as trivial as the size of a cat.

Another popular meme features a picture of a dog with the caption, “I’m not barking, I’m just speaking in an alternative language.” This meme highlights the absurdity of alternative facts by applying it to something as basic as animal behavior.

Tips for Dealing with Alternative Facts

While funny alternative facts memes are a great way to deal with the absurdity of misinformation, it’s important to take steps to prevent the spread of false information. Here are some tips:

Fact-Check Information

Before sharing any information, fact-check it to ensure it’s accurate. There are many fact-checking websites available, such as Snopes and FactCheck.org, that can help you determine if something is true or false.

Use Critical Thinking

Use critical thinking when reading or watching the news. Don’t believe everything you read or hear, and consider the source of the information. Is it a credible source, or is it a known purveyor of false information?

Report False Information

If you see false information being spread, report it to the platform where it’s being shared. Many social media platforms have reporting features that allow you to report false information.

Conclusion

Alternative facts are a serious problem in today’s society, but people have found a hilarious way to deal with them through funny memes. These memes use humor to point out the absurdity of misinformation and encourage critical thinking. While it’s important to take steps to prevent the spread of false information, it’s also important to find a way to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
