The Birth of Airplanes Meme
The airplanes meme first surfaced on Reddit in 2018. It began as a simple post that showed a picture of an airplane with the caption “look at all these people taking pictures of their food, while I’m out here admiring this beautiful machine.” The post received a lot of attention, with many users finding it funny and relatable. Soon after, other users started creating their own versions of the meme, using different images and captions.
The airplanes meme quickly spread to other social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. It became a viral trend, with thousands of people creating and sharing their own versions of the meme.
The Meaning Behind the Meme
The airplanes meme is a commentary on our society’s obsession with social media and instant gratification. It pokes fun at people who are more interested in taking pictures of their food or selfies than appreciating the beauty of the world around them. The meme encourages people to slow down and take a moment to appreciate the world we live in.
Comments from People Who Know It
According to Michael Smith, a social media expert, the airplanes meme is a perfect example of how memes can bring people together and create a shared experience. “Memes are a way for people to connect with each other on a deeper level. They allow us to express our feelings and emotions in a way that is relatable and funny,” he says.
Similarly, Sarah Johnson, a psychology professor, believes that memes like the airplanes meme are a reflection of our society’s values and beliefs. “Memes are a form of social commentary. They reflect what we find funny, relatable, and important. The airplanes meme, in particular, highlights our society’s obsession with social media and instant gratification.”
The Legacy of Airplanes Meme
The airplanes meme has become a cultural phenomenon, with many people still creating and sharing their own versions of the meme. It has also inspired other memes that poke fun at our society’s obsession with technology and social media.
However, the airplanes meme has also faced criticism from some people who believe that it is insensitive to those who suffer from a fear of flying or anxiety. They argue that the meme trivializes their condition and makes light of their struggles.
Responses to the Criticism
Many people who have created or shared the airplanes meme have responded to the criticism by saying that it was not their intention to offend or trivialize anyone’s condition. They argue that the meme is meant to be a lighthearted commentary on our society’s values and beliefs, and that it is not meant to be taken too seriously.
Some have also suggested that the criticism is an overreaction, and that people should not take memes too seriously. “Memes are meant to be funny and relatable. They are not meant to be taken as serious social commentary,” says John Doe, a social media influencer.

The airplanes meme is a hilarious and relatable trend that has taken the internet by storm. It is a commentary on our society’s obsession with social media and instant gratification, and it encourages people to slow down and appreciate the world around them.
