In the world of memes, it’s not uncommon for a new meme to take the internet by storm. But in 2023, there was one meme that stood above the rest: “Meme Aguanta un Refri.” Translated to English, this phrase means “Meme can hold a fridge.” It’s a seemingly absurd concept, but that’s what makes it so funny.

What is “Meme Aguanta un Refri”?

The meme features a photograph of a man holding a refrigerator on his back, with the caption “Meme Aguanta un Refri” written above it. The man in the photograph is actually a Mexican wrestler named El Hijo del Santo. The image has been edited to include the refrigerator, which makes it look like he’s carrying it on his back.

The origins of the meme are unclear, but it first gained popularity on social media in Mexico. From there, it spread to other Spanish-speaking countries and eventually made its way to English-speaking audiences.
