The Birth of the Meme
The meme in question features a still image of Schwimmer’s character Ross with his arms crossed and a stern expression on his face. The image is often paired with humorous captions that describe scenarios where someone has done something wrong or questionable, with Ross’s expression serving as a reaction to the situation.
The origins of the meme can be traced back to a 2015 episode of “Friends” where Ross is shown angrily yelling at Rachel and Chandler while gesturing with his hands. The still image of the scene was later used in a tweet by Twitter user @ThePixelFactor, who added the caption “They don’t know that we know they know we know” to the image.
The Viral Spread
From there, the meme quickly gained traction and was shared across various social media platforms. It didn’t take long for others to start using the image with their own captions, and soon the Ross Geller meme was everywhere.
