It’s been almost two decades since the release of Star Wars: Republic Commando, the tactical first-person shooter game that introduced us to the world of clone commandos. These elite soldiers were bred for one purpose: to complete the most dangerous and difficult missions in the galaxy. But in 2023, they’ve become more than just characters in a video game. What are Clone Commando Memes?
Clone Commando memes are a new type of Star Wars joke that has taken over social media. They typically involve images or videos of the clone commandos from Republic Commando, accompanied by humorous captions or dialogue. Some of the most popular memes feature Delta Squad, the game’s main characters, in hilarious situations or using their signature catchphrases.
The rise of Clone Commando memes can be attributed to a few factors. First, there’s the nostalgia factor. Many Star Wars fans who grew up playing Republic Commando have fond memories of the game and its characters. Second, there’s the fact that the clone commandos are relatively obscure compared to other Star Wars characters, which makes them ripe for parody. And lastly, the game’s recent re-release on modern consoles has introduced a new generation of fans to the world of clone commandos.
Examples of Clone Commando Memes
One of the most popular Clone Commando memes features a screenshot of Delta Squad from Republic Commando, with the caption “When you’re the only one who did the group project.” Another popular meme shows a screenshot of a clone commando with the caption “When you realize you’re the last clone trooper with a different haircut.” These memes play off the clone commandos’ unique personalities and quirks, and are often accompanied by inside jokes that only fans of Republic Commando would understand.
But Clone Commando memes aren’t just limited to image macros. There are also plenty of video memes that feature clips from Republic Commando, edited to create humorous scenarios. One popular video meme shows Delta Squad infiltrating a separatist stronghold, only to find that they’ve accidentally landed on a planet full of Ewoks. The resulting chaos is both hilarious and unexpected.
