According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a meme is “an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture.” In the context of the internet, a meme is typically an image or video that is accompanied by a humorous caption or tagline. Memes are often used to express a particular emotion or sentiment, or to comment on a current event or cultural phenomenon.
